The annual service for Marilyn, organised by Marilyn Remembered, was held at Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles on August 5th, marking the 49th anniversary of her death. This year’s speakers included Sondra Farrell Bazrod (who appeared in Monkey Business); Audrey Franklyn (publicist to Ella Fitzgerald); Laurent Morlet (director of With Her, a documentary about the Monroe fan community); Lois Banner (author of MM-Personal); Diana Herbert (daughter of F. Hugh Herbert, who directed Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay!); Noreen Siegel (formerly Noreen Nash, wife of Dr. Lee Siegel); Stanley Rubin (producer of River of No Return) and his wife, actress Kathleen Hughes; photographer George Barris; and John Gilmore (author of Inside Marilyn Monroe.)
